Post Date:01/12/2026 4:30 PM

OCALA, Fla. (Jan. 12, 2026) – The Discovery Center will open its new traveling exhibit, Forever Forest: Live, Work, Play, on Saturday, Jan. 17.

The immersive, hands-on exhibit explores forests, sustainable harvesting and wood-based construction, helping families discover how forests connect to everyday life. Guests can interact with a kid-sized replica of a Union Pacific engine, mini grapple skidders, a tree-top climber and a mini home under construction.

Forever Forest: Live, Work, Play is inspired by the Hardwood Forest Foundation’s educational program, The Truth About Trees. The exhibit was produced by the Omaha Children’s Museum and is presented by Union Pacific and the North American Wholesale Lumber Association.

The exhibit will be on display through Saturday, May 9, at the Discovery Center, 701 NE Sanchez Ave. Hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Discovery Center will be closed to the public through Jan. 16 for exhibit installation.
