PUBLIC MEETING:
STORMWATER ENGINEERING TO HOST PUBLIC INPUT MEETING FOR FLOOD RESILIENCE
OCALA, Fla. (Jan. 3, 2025)—The City of Ocala Engineering Department, in collaboration with the consulting firm Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc., will host a public input meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 14, at 5:30 p.m. at the Mary Sue Rich Community Center at Reed Place, 1821 NW 21st Ave. This meeting is part of an ongoing vulnerability assessment aimed at identifying the risks associated with flooding from storm events in Ocala.
The department will discuss potential scenarios of rainfall-induced flooding and its impact on city assets. Additionally, it will identify areas that are highly vulnerable and may benefit from future adaptation efforts.
Participants will have the opportunity to provide input during the meeting regarding flood risks affecting critical and historical infrastructure in the city.
