OTrak Chalk Walk
2026 OTrak Chalk Walk - January 24, 2026, 10 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Ocala Cultural Arts presents the third annual OTrak Chalk Walk as part of the Tuscawilla Art Park Series. Walk along the OTrak to watch live chalk art drawing by professional and student artists competing for Best in Show, Second Place, and People’s Choice. Winners of the competitions will be announced at 4:30 p.m. in the Art Park. Enjoy live music, local artisans and craftsmen, non-profits, and food trucks along with the chalk art.
Families and attendees will be able to create their own chalk drawing at the Art Park for $5. Chalk is provided by Ocala Cultural Arts along with a designated sidewalk square inside the park.
This free event will host live musical performances by Shelby Lauren Music and Sooza, as well as community performances by Madison Street Academy, Community Stages, and Fort King Middle School.
The theme for 2026 OTrak Chalk Walk competition is “Hidden Gems of Florida”, focusing on the state’s local treasures, its small towns, landmarks, stories, and natural beauty. The professional competition is open to artists currently working and residing in the state of Florida. The student competition is open to middle and high school students from Marion County, Florida.
Chalk artists interested in applying to compete in OTrak Chalk Walk must fully complete the provided application. Entries can be submitted online, via email to artinfo@ocalafl.gov, or mailed to City of Ocala Cultural Arts, 201 SE 3rd St., 2nd Floor, Ocala, FL 34471. It is FREE to apply.

Winners of the second annual Otrak Chalk Walk themed “Natural Wonders, Great and Small” in 2025, were announced Saturday, Jan. 25, 2025. The awards ceremony was hosted by the City of Ocala Cultural Arts Division and winners were revealed after the day-long art competition. Categories included Best in Show, Second Place and People’s Choice Awards. The judges included Darian Mosley from Artify Ocala, Ashley Justiniano from Marion Cultural Alliance, Billye Mallory from Fine Arts For Ocala, Victoria Billig from the Appleton Museum, and Malcolm Omari Davis from the Magnolia Art Xchange.
The 2025 winners are:
Best in Show,$1,000 prize: Justin Alsedek
Second Place, $500 prize: Brian Morris
People’s Choice, $250 prize: Laura Thomas
Student Competition Winners:
Best in Show, $500 prize: Charlotte Reed
People’s Choice, $100 prize: Talia Martin
Reed and Martin also received a one-year membership to the Marion Cultural Alliance and the Appleton Museum of Art, donated by the respective organizations.
