Building on Vision 2035
The City of Ocala adopted Vision 2035 on October 19, 2010, following extensive public engagement. That long-term vision established a framework for community design values, urban form, and development standards that continue to guide growth today.
Vision 2050 builds upon this foundation and advances the community’s long-term goals.
Key Advancements from Vision 2035
- Adoption of Form-Based Code
- Creation of two Community Redevelopment Areas (CRA) and expansion of the Downtown CRA
- Incentive programs to encourage infill development and redevelopment
- Sidewalk improvements incorporated into the annual Capital Improvement Program
These milestones helped shape Ocala’s growth and set the stage for the next phase of planning.
