Visitor Center 

The Fort King National Historic Landmark’s Visitor Center is home to many displays and artifacts that continue to bring the rich history to life. A brief film goes in depth about the important history that took place right here in Ocala!

Archaeological Resource Center

The Archaeology Center showcases artifacts found on-site at Fort King. It offers education about the archaeological process that took place for the re-creation the Fort King replica and future projects like the blacksmith shop. The Center also features new artifacts that have never been seen by the public and were discovered during the blacksmith shop excavation. New exhibits are planned quarterly.

The Fort

On site is a replica of Fort King, the replica is one of a very few forts that have been reconstructed to actual size. The fort and block houses are open to the public to explore.

Heritage Garden

The Heritage Garden is a teaching garden that houses many native vegetables, fruits and plants. This garden is used throughout the year for programming such as school groups, wild foraging and wild edible hikes, but it is also open year-round to visitors.

Trails

The mile-long trail is a true place of serenity centered right in the city. Along your hike you will come across the historical fort king road, the same seep spring the soldiers used to bathe and drink and the DAR cemetery. Pets are welcome on leash.
