Fort King is a 40-acre National Historic Landmark located in Ocala, Florida, jointly owned by the City of Ocala and Marion County. This historically significant site offers visitors a glimpse into Florida’s rich past, particularly its role in the Second Seminole War.

Adjacent to the main site is a memorial area owned by the Daughters of the American Revolution – Ocala Chapter, which is leased to the City of Ocala and Marion County under a 99-year agreement. The entire site is managed by the City of Ocala, ensuring its preservation and accessibility for public education and tourism.

Support for Fort King’s ongoing development and programming is provided by the Fort King Heritage Foundation, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that offers funding assistance and logistical support.
