Notice: Water and Sewer Rate Increase

A water and sewer rate increase of 5.0% for residential users and 6.0–6.5% for commercial users was approved as part of a multi-year rate plan at the June 17, 2025, City Council meeting held in the City Council Chambers. The new rates will take effect on October 1, 2026.

For the average residential customer using 6,000 gallons per month, this will result in an approximate increase of $4.53 per month. Commercial user costs will vary based on usage and classification.


Notice: Phase III Extreme Water Shortage Advisory

Due to ongoing drought conditions, the St. Johns River Water Management District has issued a Phase III Extreme Water Shortage Advisory for most of Marion County, Florida, including the City of Ocala.


The Water Resources Department is responsible for the pumping, treatment, storage and transfer of drinking water and the collection, treatment and disposal of sanitary sewage.
